Team #7 OKR Smells Funny Without Tim won the overall score, but missed on the magic jackpot chip. Quiz Might Be Giants

It was a fun and busy night at Pub Quiz last week with 23 teams participating and 4 different teams winning a round. In the end, it was another team that put together 4 consistently excellent rounds and pulled ahead of several other teams. But Team #5 Honey, I'm Sorry I Can't; It'll Give Me Cancer pulled the dreaded red chip and got nothing for their troubles, leaving the whole jackpot to roll over. (Thought this my be a case of karmic balance since the same team won the big jackpot two weeks ago.)

In other news, Team #16 Butt Munchers won round 4 and have earned the privilege to give us the categories below for round 3. It was an intimate night of Pub Quiz with only 11 teams braving the hot winds of last Wednesday to come and vie for a newly forming jackpot. Mega Quiz

Thank you to everyone who came down last week for Pub Quiz and my birthday. I was a little scared about what the night might hold, but it all worked out fine. Thank you to Chris, Don, Zelie, Patrick, Wendy, Andrea, and everyone else that had a hand in the decorating, desserts, serving, etc. It all made the day great for me.

Speaking of great, the game play was pretty stellar with lots of good scores. In the end, there was a tie for the overall score between Team #8 Swooping in On Your Jackpot, Ca-Caw, Ca-Caw! and Team #16 40 is the New 25 so it went down to a tiebreaker and Team #8 prevailed AND selected the white token to take home a big jackpot. Congrats to them.

It was an interesting night last night at Pub Quiz. Several more teams got involved in the winning, which some might say is why we play the game. Others where a little non-plussed that people cared so much about the rules. That all got straightened out after some hollering and shedding of tears. At the end of the night, it was unsurprisingly Team #14 Target on Our Bags who won the overall score. They still didn't win the whole big jackpot taking only 20% out of it, so next week it will be over $600 again.

Another night of Pub Quiz is in the books and to borrow a phrase it was the same as it ever was. Even though there were several teams that did well, when it was all over Team #15 Better Bag Than Never won the overall score. If this continues, I half-expect them to stand up like Brad Pitt's Achilles and begin crying 'Is there no none else?!!' into the crowd. Some teams are going to have to step up their games and challenge this powerhouse.

Last night's Pub Quiz was fun and fiercely contested. We had a few new teams that acquitted themselves quite well and several stalwart teams that flexed their muscles for a round or two. But in the end Team #13 The Purple Bombers edged out Team #11 The Bossy Know-It-Alls by a measly half-point for the overall score win. The correct token was not chosen so the jackpot will roll over.
