I don't imagine any of you are still reading this, but in the event you tirelessly visit savejuly10.com every day despite no longer needing to save July 10 for any practical purpose, I thought I'd offer a little closure.
The little missus and I just got back from our first anniversary trip. Thinking, as most of us do, that nothing says "long-term commitment" like Las Vegas, Kim and I hit Sin City as hard as we could. We stayed at the Wynn Resort (great hotel that afforded us our own HD TV to watch the world cup final in our room), saw a few shows that involved colorfully costumed French Canadians bending, twisting or throwing themselves through the air in a way that would literally have ripped my body into 3 separate parts, ate like champs, and even won a whopping $37 at the roulette table, courtesy of my wife, "Big Kim." Incidentally, you may only refer to my wife as "Big Kim" when she is winning $37 at the roulette table. The next morning, when she is emerging from the bathroom in her bathing suit, is categorically the wrong time to refer to her thusly. Marriage, I have learned even only after this one year, is a neverending education.
Thanks to everybody for your warm wishes and support. Another thing I learned (besides the whole "Big Kim" thing) is that marriages are made even better by a network of supportive and loving family and friends. In this regard, we made out like bandits. Our first year is officially over, and I hope they are all this good.
